What’s Happening in Burlington County Theaters

If you’re looking for a night out at the theater this spring in Burlington County, you have lots of great options to choose from. From classic plays and musicals to children’s theater productions, the many theaters and companies across the county have got something for everyone. Check out our list of some of the highlights coming up over the next few weeks.

Masquerade Theatre

The company at the Masquerade is gearing up for a busy couple of months, with their production of Henrik Ibsen’s “A Doll’s House,”  March 13-21, followed by “Company,” coming to their stage May 1-16.

Moorestown Theater Company

The Moorestown Theater Company’s children’s theater show “My Son Pinocchio Jr.” comes to the stage March 14-22. That show will be followed by “High School Musical Jr.,” a production put on as part of the Penguin Project, a program designed to empower individuals with special needs through community theater (see sidebar), April 22-26.

Performances for both of these shows take place at First United Methodist Church, 446 E. Camden Ave,  Moorestown.

Burlington County Footlighters

Up next for the Burlington County Footlighters in Cinnaminson is their children’s theater production of “Mary Poppins, Jr.”  from March 20-29.

That show will be followed by a production of the play “Walking on the Moon,” from the organization’s 2nd Stage Company, April 10-18.

Then the action returns to their main stage for a production of “The Pirates of Penzance,” from May 1-16.

Bridge Players Theatre Company

The Bridge Players are just coming off their production of the play “She Kills Monsters,” and they’re getting ready for what’s sure to be another bloody good time with their upcoming performance of “Lizzie.”

The special concert series event takes place March 27-29, and is described as a musical retelling of the legend of Lizzie Borden.
