For our look at gift buying in Gloucester County, we could have discussed Mullica Hill itself as a destination. The streets of this quaint village in Harrison Township are lined with funky antique stores, specialty shops and a growing dining scene, making it the perfect place to spend a day searching for just the right gift for everyone on your list.
But we wanted to focus in on something more specific for this feature, and if you’re in South Jersey looking for high quality deliciousness for your holiday table, or for anytime, it doesn’t get much better than the Amish Market at Mullica Hill.
Unlike most of our other shopping features in this issue, the food at the Amish Market is the primary objective.

There are opportunities for beautiful non-food related gifts at shops like Kettlemade Soaps and the Earthshack, but the majority of what you’ll find here is made to fill your plate.
You’ll find stands offering fresh produce and meats and poultry, high-quality deli meats and gourmet cheeses, salads and already prepared foods for meals and treats, and so much more.
A standout for us personally has always been Beiler’s Donut and Coffee Shop located conveniently just steps from the entrance. They boast of over 40 different varieties of donuts and you can watch them being made in front of you. Grab a coffee and a donut or take home a dozen. They are always a hit!

If you’re looking for a more substantial meal before or after shopping, you don’t even need to leave the building. The Mullica Hill Amish Restaurant offers a downhome diner experience with buffet options at breakfast, lunch and dinner, or you can order a la carte off the menu.
Visiting the market does take some planning however, as their hours are limited. They are only open three days, Thursday through Saturday each week, and if a holiday falls on one of those days, you should probably check them out online or give them a call before you go to be sure they are open.
But trust us when we say that whether you stop in while visiting everything else Mullica Hill has to offer, or you make it your primary destination, it’ll be worth the effort to check out this long-running community staple in South Jersey.
