SOUTH JERSEY EDUCATION COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Helen Fort Middle School’s Ms. Stacey Conyer

Our new print issue features “Goodbye Summer, Hello School!” content about the end of the summer season and gearing up for back to school in our communities.

For that reason, we’ve decided to put a strong focus on our Community Spotlight category of “Education.” Schools are truly the backbone of so many communities. So without further ado, let’s shine a light on our teachers, administrators, support staff and parent volunteers who selflessly dedicate themselves to our kids!

Ms. Conyer was nominated by Helen Fort Principal Mr. Aaron Eyler. Here is what he had to say about this outstanding teacher!

Ms. Stacey Conyer is a dedicated and seasoned educator who teaches Algebra I at Helen Fort Middle School. Known for her professionalism and consistency, she arrives early each day, ready to greet students with positivity and purpose. She leverages a blended learning approach, using tools like Google Classroom, Khan Academy, and Quizizz to foster meaningful engagement and growth. Ms. Conyer also co-leads her math PLC, where she collaborates closely with colleagues to improve pacing, assess student data, and design targeted instruction. This year, she took a bold step by launching the HFMS Step Club to give students a space to express themselves and build community. Her commitment to student learning, both academically and socially, is evident in her instructional choices and the deep relationships she builds with her students.

Ms. Conyer exemplifies what it means to be a teacher-leader. Her classroom is a space where students feel seen, challenged, and celebrated. She communicates frequently and thoughtfully with families, not just when concerns arise, but to share good news and progress as well. Beyond academics, Ms. Conyer empowers students with life skills—confidence, accountability, and perseverance—that they will carry far beyond middle school. Her involvement in school events, volunteer work, and leadership in professional learning communities demonstrates a full-circle investment in her students and the greater community. With her continued emphasis on professional growth, cooperative learning strategies, and student voice, Ms. Conyer is not only teaching math—she’s shaping resilient learners and compassionate young people.

“Ms. Conyer is the kind of educator every school hopes for—relentlessly dedicated, remarkably consistent, and deeply invested in her students’ success both in and out of the classroom. Her impact at Helen Fort Middle School goes far beyond numbers and formulas,” said Ms. Deana Chiarella, Supervisor of Math.
