Our new print issue features “Goodbye Summer, Hello School!” content about the end of the summer season and gearing up for back to school in our communities.
For that reason, we’ve decided to put a strong focus on our Community Spotlight category of “Education.” Schools are truly the backbone of so many communities. So without further ado, let’s shine a light on our teachers, administrators, support staff and parent volunteers who selflessly dedicate themselves to our kids!
Mr. Conforti was nominated by Helen Fort Principal Mr. Aaron Eyler. Here is what he had to say about this outstanding teacher!
Mr. Michael Conforti is a dynamic Physical Education and Health teacher at Helen Fort Middle School who brings energy, structure, and a coaching mindset to everything he does. In his first year at HFMS, he quickly became a fixture in the school community—not just in the gymnasium, but across multiple extracurriculars. He runs the morning announcements alongside student anchors and serves as a three-sport coach: assistant high school football coach, head middle school wrestling coach, and assistant baseball coach. Mr. Conforti’s classroom is grounded in clear expectations and consistent routines, and he works to ensure that every student is prepared, engaged, and learning the value of health and fitness. He’s actively growing as an educator, currently pursuing a certification in Special Education to better meet all students’ needs.
Mr. Conforti should be highlighted for the massive impact he has made after just one year at Helen Fort. His dedication to students extends far beyond the classroom—coaching, mentoring, and helping young people build confidence and discipline through athletics and school involvement. Whether he’s leading warmups or morning announcements, his presence sets a positive tone and reinforces school pride. He was honored as Staff Member of the Month in November, a testament to the way he’s embraced every opportunity to serve students. What makes Mr. Conforti special isn’t just his work ethic—it’s his willingness to listen, learn, and continuously improve. HFMS is a stronger, more spirited place because of his contributions.
“Mr. Conforti brings energy, consistency, and heart to every corner of HFMS. He’s the kind of educator who lifts others up—and we’re lucky to have him,” said Mr. Frank Corigliano, Supervisor of Physical Education.
