This past week, the Gloucester County Institute of Technology High School put on their annual school-wide musical. This year’s show was “Mary Poppins,” with sold-out performances each night from March 4 through March 8.

The production, directed by Katie Knoblock, one of the school’s drama teachers, was based on the Disney movie of the same name and the original book series that inspired the film.

“This production is one of the most challenging our program has ever tackled,” said Knoblock in the show’s playbill. “Creating magic on stage is hard! Taking on a beloved classic while also attempting to bring our own version to the stage has not been an easy feat, and yet in taking it on, it has taught yet another Poppins lesson of not backing away from a challenge until you’ve met it.”

To see more about the show and its production, you can check out their digital playbill here.

The annual musical at GCIT primarily features students enrolled in the school’s Performing Arts program, but is open to any student who has an interest in performing.
