New Jersey Renaissance Faire Continues Fantasy Journey into the Past

The New Jersey Renaissance Faire is now in its third weekend of residence at the Burlington County Fairgrounds in Columbus. There is one additional performance this weekend set for tomorrow (Sunday, June 1), followed by its final two days on June 7 – 8.

For those unfamiliar with the concept of a Renaissance Faire, they are outdoor gatherings, typically set in England of the 1500s. There are themed performances and vendors. Costumed performers traverse the fair’s grounds and interact with visitors to the event.

Many of the fairgoers join in the fun by dressing in era-appropriate costumes and playing along with the staff.

The show in Columbus has been no exception. The fair, held annually, is the largest in New Jersey. The events are held all over the country, and even internationally. The New Jersey show was recently voted the 7th best Ren Faire in the USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice awards.

For more information about the event, and their remaining shows, visit the New Jersey Renaissance Faire online and their Facebook page.
