Press Release: Info and Photos Courtest Big Brothers Big Sisters
As summer approaches, students and their parents or guardians will be looking for ways to fill their days and being paired with a mentor can make a big difference in their lives.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties (BBBS) has a variety of available programs that are flexible for potential mentors and allow them to volunteer in a way that best benefits both them and their mentee.

“Summer is the perfect time to step up and be a Big,” shared Donna Bennett, President and CEO of BBBS of Cumberland & Salem Counties. “Many kids in our community have little to do in the summer, and even just a few hours with their Big creates memories that will last a lifetime.”

For anyone who might be interested in volunteering but unable to start during the summer, BBBS is also encouraging applications for their fall programs. Mentor 2.0 is a program that matches high school juniors from Cumberland County Technical Education Center (CCTEC) with mentors who have either a college degree or significant professional experience.
For younger interested volunteers, the High School Mentoring program matches high school students with younger peers, which benefits both parties in many ways. Other programs include Site-Based and School-Based Mentoring, where matches meet at designated community locations or within a school environment.
