Most people who’ve spent any amount of time in South Jersey probably have at least a passing familiarity with pick-your-own farms and orchards.
U-Pick Strawberries, peaches, apples and pumpkins have all become fairly common seasonal agri-tourism offerings in recent years.
But at Specca Farms in Burlington County, they take things a little bit further.
Pick your own fava beans? Yep! Cut your own asparagus? You betcha! Dig your own parsnips, absolutely, though you may have already missed those for the year.

The farm operates seasonally, with dozens of pick-your-own options available depending on the time of the year.
On our recent visit, we cut our own spinach, swiss chard, and sweet rabe, and we pulled our own radishes! We left with four nice-sized bags of produce for only a few minutes worth of work and about $7!

If you’re interested in trying them out for yourself, visit them online at www.speccafarms.com, or better yet, follow them on Facebook, where you’ll get up-to-date information on what’s available at the farm.

By the time you read this, strawberry season should be in full swing, if a more traditional U-pick experience is more your speed!

When you visit, stop in at the scale house to check in and find out where to go and what to pick, and they’ll get you all set up with whatever you need.
They also have their produce and other items available for sale if you’d rather do things the easy way (no judgment here, slacker).
