Ministry of ARTeriors Art Show to Kick Off in Atlantic City

The 11th edition of the ARTeriors pop-up art show begins with a three-day series of opening reception dates this month ahead of its ongoing gallery run in the city.

The annual show transforms vacant commercial spaces into immersive art experiences, and this year they’ve taken over a shuddered storefront church on Pacific Avenue, hence the “Ministry of ARTeriors” name for this incarnation of the event.

Organized by the Atlantic City Arts Foundation, ARTeriors celebrates local artists, urban transformation, and the city’s evolving creative spirit.

“We’re trying to show people that Atlantic City has more to offer and that there’s great fun to be had, and this cool artistic community in New Jersey,” said the Arts Foundation’s Executive Director Michael Atkins.

With only two weeks to create their installations, the artists use found objects, upcycled materials, and inspiration from the space’s story to craft something truly unforgettable.

Past locations have included the Tanger Outlets Payless Shoesource site and James Taffy Factory on the Boardwalk.

This year, visitors can step inside the former church, at 2601 Pacific Avenue, to view mural, sculpture, neon art and video installations from artists such as Alissa Eberle, Chanelle Renee, Sam Cronick, Vanessa Spollen-Jaramillo and many others.

The opening weekend events will take place on Fri., Nov. 7 and Sat., Nov. 8 from  5 p.m. to 8 p.m. each night, and on Sun., Nov. 9, from noon to 3 p.m. Opening reception tickets are now available for purchase.

Following the opening events, ARTeriors will have free weekend gallery hours starting Sat., Nov. 15 through Sun., Dec. 14.For more information about the show and the Atlantic City Arts Foundation, and to buy tickets for the reception, visit www.atlanticcityartsfoundation.org.
