SOUTH JERSEY BEACH PATROL COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Steve Schiff of the Wildwood Beach Taxi

Our new print issue features our summer “Down the Shore” content about the beach towns, communities, businesses and people that help South Jersey put the state on the map for the best beaches, resorts, events and attractions in the country.

For that reason, we’ve decided to turn our Community Spotlight feature over to the special category of “Beach Patrol” for a while. So without further ado, let’s shine a light on our beaches and those who keep them safe!

Steve was nominated by Captain Ed Schneider. Here is what Steve had to say about his experience with the beach taxi.

“My name is Steven Schiff, and I currently reside in Liberty Hill, Texas. I grew up in the Philadelphia area and spent countless summers in Wildwood with my grandparents—a place that holds a special place in my heart. Over the past four years, I’ve made it a tradition to return to Wildwood each summer and have had the privilege of joining the Wildwood Beach Patrol Taxi team.

In this role, I’ve had the opportunity to both drive and assist visitors as they travel from the boardwalk to the shoreline, as well as serve as the Beach Patrol Dispatcher, coordinating rides and answering calls. Some of my most meaningful experiences come from the smiles, thanks, and genuine appreciation shared by the people I help each day. Those moments are what make this work so rewarding.”
