Captain Tom’s Corner: Fishing Action Still Hot for Sea Bass and Drum, Tuna and Tiles, and Fluke are on the Way

Pictured above is Captain Tom Daffin with Harry Ridgeway and the 65 pound drum he caught during his trip on the Fishin’ Fever, donated by the Hooks For Heroes organization. We’ll have more on the group and their mission soon, so keep an eye for that. But for now check out our latest fishing report from Capt. Daffin and friends!

Hey folks!

We’ve been busy between the rain drops and gusty winds, running trips with some great success here in Cape May.

Sea bass fishing in the ocean is nothing short of spectacular with easy limits every trip, with big, tasty knot heads. We’ve even had some ling in the mix to make the filet bags a little bigger.

Drum fishing on the Delaware Bay is still going strong and I believe these fish are going to bite for another two to three weeks with the water temps staying on the cooler side.

The first tuna have been caught just to our south with excellent catches of both bluefin and yellowfin making an appearance. Tile fishing in the canyons for these tasty bottom dwellers has also been very good.

We are still currently drum and sea bass fishing but will start our fluke trips in the ocean on June 1, so watch out for a report.

If you’d like to stay up on our current reports and availability check us out on our website below and join our weekly email newsletter.

Tight lines.

Captain Bob Cope of Full Ahead Sport Fishing had similar news to report.

The sea bass bite continues to be very good with a few ling in the mix on some trips.

Limits, limits, limits! The quality of the bass continues to be good with a mix of good size fish on every trip.

A few fluke have been caught to add to the mix and will get better every week as the water continues to warm up.

Summer is here and there are plenty of reasons to jump on a boat for a day of good fishing.

The drum bite also continues to be good on most trips for the guys still targeting them.

It’s time to fish!
