Captain Tom’s Corner: Drum and Stripers in the Bay, Sea Bass on the Way

Check out our latest fishing report from Captain Tom Daffin and friends!

Hey folks!

There’s been some good fishing in the Delaware as of late. A big wave of jumbo black drum have entered the bay on their annual spring migration.

Fish from 20 to 65 pounds on recent trips have yielded some great rod bending action.

Also, stripers are cruising the shallows, slurping up anglers’ fresh bunker and swimming plugs.

May 17 marks the start of our seabass season here in New Jersey and we know there are tons of fish around. We saw them often during our tog season trips. So it looks like it’s going to be another banner spring.

If you’d like to get out on any of these trips or any others we offer during the summer, just reach out and we’ll get you on the fish!

Tight lines.

Captain Bob Cope of Full Ahead Sport Fishing has been focusing on the drum in the Delaware Bay as well, with lots of big fish to report.

All I can say for this week is that the drum continues to beat!

Every trip but one, due to very windy conditions has been very good with everyone on the boat getting a chance to catch at least one drum.

Some of the guys have managed to catch their limit, with fish up to 55 pounds hitting the deck so far.

Now is the time – it doesn’t get any better than this!
