The group, part of the Jersey Cares organization, partnered with the Island Waterpark at the Showboat Resort Atlantic City. The new location allowed the Volunteer Center the opportunity to reach a new audience and share their mission along the coast.

The organization works to promote the power of community service and to ensure that opportunities are easy to find and accessible to everyone who would like to volunteer.

The Taste of Community annual fundraiser helps to sustain their various programs and initiatives offered to local nonprofit partners, corporate partners, volunteers, and schools of all levels. These initiatives and programs include the Get Connected platform, Volunteer Engagement Training, Board Connect, Youth Workforce Development, volunteer initiatives, and collection drives.

Through the power of community and connections fostered through this event, the group is able to continue their mission of connecting volunteers, empowering nonprofits, and building a more unified community.

In addition to supporting the Volunteer Center, the event shines a spotlight on South Jersey’s extensive food and beverage industry. Participants showcase their finest offerings to the event’s guests and share their passion for service to the community.

This year, there were 18 vendors who traveled from all over South Jersey and beyond, offering a vast selection of foods and beverages. From soul food to Polish/Italian fusion to Hawaiian poke, this year’s event truly had it all.

The Volunteer Center of South Jersey would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the more than 200 guests who attended, the Best of South Jersey Basket Raffle donors, as well as their sponsors, vendors, and advisory board.
